Nora's Baptism

Well, I knew my baptism was going to be a big day. After all, we had tried to have my baptism once before but the snow storm of the century prevented that from taking place. So, when February 25 rolled around I knew there was going to be a lot to do.
Auntie Kathy and Abuelita Scientifica (grandma Janet) had come to Albuqueruqe for the big event. They started getting me ready for the baptism by kissing me and holding me and cooing all over me when they arrived on Friday. By the time of my baptism my head was already wet from all of their kissing.
Saturday we went shopping for new clothes for me since I am growing out of everything. We didn't have to contend with snow this time but the wind was blowing about 900 miles an hour. Now, I know that the word "wind" comes from the same word as "Spirit" in Hebrew and that in baptism the Spirit is poured out upon me, but come on, it was TOO windy!
Sunday started with my bath. I love my bath. As a matter of fact, last week while I was taking a bath I noticed my feet and couldn't take my eyes off of them. Apparantly that is a pretty funny thing because Mommy and Daddy laughed at me a whole lot.
So, anyway, back to the baptism. After my bath I put on my first outfit for the day. Mommy, Kathy and Janet took me to church where I got another meal and then I put on my second outfit for the day, my baptismal gown. Abuelita Scientifica made my gown for me for my first scheduled baptism and even though I have grown it still fit for my second scheduled baptism.
After I put my gown on I worked the crowd a little and got some hugs and some "Oh how pretty-s" and some "She's beautiful-s." It's fun for my parents to hear that.
When worship started I got a little fussy. After all, this was my day and I kept hearing my Daddy talk; he seemed to be forgetting that I was there so I let him know. Finally the time came and it took two ministers to baptize me. Doug was my Mommy's pastor when she was a kid and Erik is Daddy's friend. They did a good job and the water was warm and good. After the baptism everyone prayed for me and that felt good too.
After church we took lots of pictures and then went out to eat. We had a great day with friends and family and everybody took turns holding me and passing me around. I'm a lucky kid; I guess that's why I'm so happy.

January and February 2007

Well everyone, I'm three months old now and boy, is my life a whirlwind of activity. I spend most of my time smiling and cooing. I'm going to work with my mommy now and I am helping her on her "multi-tasking" as she holds and feeds me and types e-mails with one hand. Daddy doesn't do as well with the multi-tasking and so I have to be a little more vocal when I'm at his office.

January and February have been fun for me. I got to meet my uncle Randy, who still knows how to hold and feed a baby. I also got to take my first plane ride when mommy took me to Dallas to see her long time friend Sally and her three children.

It's no surprise that I'm tired!
